Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail
Which came first: the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas or the Holy Grail for
which Indiana Jones searched?
For those who saw the movie, understand the New Age and are
aware that both Spielberg and Lucas are proponents of the New
Age, it was not surprising to see and hear the many New Age
references. However, it must be noted that neither Spielberg nor Lucas were
the originators of the New Age myth revolving around the Holy
Grail.
In Circle Of Light: Community Magazine of Emerging Ideas,
the following appeared concerning the Holy Grail:
"The silver Chalice is a mystical symbol derived from the
cup used at the Last Supper when Jesus transformed ordinary
wine and bread into spiritual glory. However ordinary it may
have been originally, by the magic of its use the myths and
legends around it made it into a Silver Chalice of great mystical
importance, usually called the Holy Grail.
"The Holy Grail is a symbol of the magic of Christ,
that potential within us which we may unleash by purification
and clear intention to serve the Father's Will.
"Meditation on the symbol of the Chalice opens that door
to an understanding of The Divine mysteries as well as insight
into one's own destiny: past, present and future.
"It has been sought through the ages as the one object which
would contain unlimited Diving Energy. As the cosmic symbol
of love, joy and overwhelming blessings, it represents the
ultimate container, the receptive human soul which can
hold so much of Divine energy.
"It was said that the Chalice would appear when a person
of true purity would seek it with their whole hearts. When
such a person found the Chalice this would bring about the
return of Christ or His energy to redeem the world and
its churches from error.
"In esoteric terms there is supposedly a fellowship of the
Holy Grail, of individuals committed to the fulfillment of
the promises of Christ. Those individuals who live to prepare
a welcome for His reappearance on Earth represent a special
group who are often fascinated by the symbol of the Silver
Chalice.
"At the highest level, the Chalice represents the Christ
becoming the vessel of the living grail holding the Christ
Spirit and consciousness. The Chalice is the symbol of
the new covenant of a oneness and spirit of all life
in the new age," (April 1984, p. 2).
Just add a chase scene and this could be the script for the
movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
